Tree-mendous effort

AN impressive 4,000 native trees have been planted across Redcar and Cleveland in the past year, with a further 10,000 due to be planted in 2022/23.

The drive to create a greener borough, is part of the council’s commitment to annual tree planting in the area in support of our ambition to become a carbon neutral borough by 2030.

The trees have been planted across public open spaces, countryside sites and new orchards, following consultation with community groups, environment officers and councillors.

The council is committed to an ongoing annual tree planting project with plans in place for a further 10,000 trees to be planted in 2022/23.
